Today marks a decade since the 2004 tsunami hit Thailand and killed thousands. The people of Phuket suffered and endured more than any person ever should. You can rebuild buildings and roads but some things can never be resurrected.
Of course Dave and I cannot relate to what they’ve endured but we hear the stories. I teach a seventeen year old who was only seven years old when he and his father had their lives largely demolished in one morning. Instead of retreating on the father’s boat, his father chose for them to stay. They used the boat to help save the lives of dozens.
Everyone here has their story and, if someone feels comfortable enough to tell you their’s, the only thing you can do is listen.
We are meant to bend but never break.
