It strikes me that someone who’s never been to Phuket might not realize that it’s not just an island paradise, it’s a food paradise.
I think back home the above duck curry would cost $20 instead of $5. And let’s be clear, $5 for a Thai meal is a fortune and should only be paid for exceptional dishes.
The cheapest good food we eat is a fried chicken dish with duck sauce and a spicy on the table to add at your leisure. It costs 40 baht and comes with Tom Yum Soup, which is a Thai staple.
The below photo is of Kow Soy. It’s flavor is over the top. It’s like a Thai curry that costs $2 USD. The pork falls off the bone and the combination of soft noodles and crispy noodles gives it texture that’s much more novel and enjoyable than a simple bowl of curry.
