To help promote my app I decided to try a new idea. I’ve been creating free photo galleries using photos from our global travels. Stock photography adds up quick, usually costing $5-20. So I offer cash-strapped artists and startups a trade: You can use my photos if you promote my app on your website.
As I’ve sorted through all our photos to create galleries, I realized I never really stopped to summarize Thailand. Given how photogenic the country is, it seems best to summarize it in photos.
Island hopping and beach days are a popular weekend activity, except when dark clouds roll in to rain on your parade. For about five or six months, rain is an almost daily thing (luckily it usually only lasts an hour).
Visiting what we called “Monkey Hill” was one of our favorite Sunday night activities. It was a grueling uphill to get up there but always worth the walk.
Lunchtime was a wonderful part of the day in Thailand. Always cheap and knock-your-socks off flavorful.
The sunsets… well they speak for themselves.
In Thailand, beaches come with dogs.
Thailand also has its fare share of its weird stuff.

- Cat Cafes
- Coffee in a bag
- Dogs balancing on bikes
- Parasailing steered by a guy hanging onto the ropes
Then there’s training in Muay Thai, which was one of the best experiences of my life:
The coast and surrounding islands also make an amazing place to pop your head under water and take a look around.
Also, dessert is worth mentioning:
Also, the most intense festival I’ve ever seen lasted a week. To say it overwhelmed the senses would be an understatement:
There may be amazing sunsets, amazing food, amazing diving, and it may be a general paradise but nothing beats the happy people.
